How to Merge PDF Files Online for Free

  1. 1

    Choose your PDFs

Select or drag in two or more PDF files. They open directly in your browser.

  2. 2

    Put them in order

Use the up and down controls to arrange the files in the order you want them combined.

  3. 3

    Merge and download

Click Merge to combine the files into one PDF and download it right away.

Combining Files in the Right Order

Files are combined in the order they appear in the list, top to bottom. Use the up and down arrows next to a file to move it, or the trash icon to remove it before merging. Each file shows its page count once it's checked, so you can confirm the result before combining.

Limits and Supported Files

You can merge up to 20 PDF files, or a combined total of 100MB, in a single merge — the same 25MB per-file limit as the signing tool applies to each individual file. Password-protected, corrupted, or otherwise unreadable PDFs are flagged with a specific error rather than silently skipped.

Merging Without Uploading Your Documents

Merging happens entirely in your browser using the pdf-lib library. There is no document-upload step — your files are read, combined, and offered back to you for download without ever being transmitted to a server. See sign a PDF without uploading for the same explanation in more detail, and how to verify it yourself.
