How to Sign a PDF on iPhone
You can sign a PDF on your iPhone using Safari or Chrome, directly with your finger — no app to install and no account to create.
Open the signing tool1. Open the signing tool and choose your PDF
Go to the sign PDF tool in Safari or Chrome and tap the upload area. This opens the standard iOS file picker, where you can choose a PDF from the Files app, iCloud Drive, or a location like a Mail attachment you've already saved to Files.
2. Draw your signature with your finger
Tap “Add signature,” then use the Draw tab to sign with your finger directly on the screen. If you'd rather not draw, switch to the Type tab to type your name in a signature-style font, or the Upload tab to use an image of a signature you already have. Tap “Use this signature” to confirm.
3. Position and resize it with touch
Your signature appears on the page as a box. Drag it with one finger to move it where you need it, and drag any of the handles around its edges and corners to make it bigger or smaller. Use the page controls above the document if you need to move to a different page before adding another signature or a date.
4. Add a date if needed
Tap “Add date” to drop today's date onto the page, then position it the same way you positioned your signature.
5. Download and save the signed PDF
Tap “Download signed PDF.” Safari on iPhone saves downloads to the Files app by default, typically in the Downloads folder — check there if nothing seems to happen right away. Once it's saved, you can open it to confirm your signature looks right, and share it from the Files app using AirDrop, Mail, or any other app through the standard share sheet.
A couple of iPhone-specific notes
On narrow screens like an iPhone's, the zoom controls are hidden and the page automatically fits the width of your screen, so there's no need to zoom in or out to work with your document. If you're not sure whether a visual signature from this tool is appropriate for a particular document, see the note on signature types in the full signing guide.
